Infinity NYE 2017 // Event Recap

It was pouring in San Diego, but that didn’t dampen the excitement surrounding Infinity NYE 2017. Expanding to a two day event, this event’s success definitely shined with a stacked lineup, an amazing crowd, and exceptional lighting and production. The most unique part of this event was that the whole hotel was bought out just for attendees. The Town & Country has various types of accommodations and tons of event space. It was the perfect venue for a huge New Year’s Eve party. There were two ticket tiers - GA and VIP. I highly recommend getting VIP next year if you can. You get easy access to INDOOR bathrooms, side stage access with lots of space to dance, expedited entry into the venue, and VIP only bars at each stage.

On Friday and Saturday, Infinity NYE opened its doors to attendees decked in colorful outfits and sparkly dresses. Transportation was easy since the Uber drop off and pickup was right by the entrance of the event. The first night started at 9pm and ended at 2am. Everyone, attendees and staff, was super helpful and friendly. We were greeted at the entrance by one of the staff, and were told to have an amazing time. After walked through the hallways after an easy security check, there were multiple insta-worthy photo backdrops scattered around the lobbies. Friday’s headliners were We Are Treo, G-Eazy, and Illenium. Incredible EDM talent mixed with rap. That was what I loved about Infinity - the variety of music offered.

Once we entered the Infinite Stage, there were already a ton of people already grooving to Nitecap x Saber! I’m surprised there were full blown lasers and lighting so early in the night. The Infinite Stage was located in the main convention room, which was carpeted and had high ceilings, there was so much space for dancing and hanging out. The event was mostly indoor, so it was perfect for the cold and rainy NYE weekend.

Night two was New Year’s Eve, and they opened two more stages to explore. The party didn't stop till 3am! This night was headlined by LUMBERJVCK, Flux Pavillion, Boombox Cartel, Dillon Francis, Dada Life, and JOYRYDE! There was a much bigger crowd, but there was still a ton room to dance. Dillon Francis was ended his set at around midnight, and the whole crowd was counting down with him. After a collective “Happy New Year!!” from thousands of attendees, rainbow confetti, huge balloons, smoke jets, and cheering rang into the new year, my boyfriend and I kissed, hugged and just reveled in the moment with everyone in the VIP section.

Right after the countdown, Dada Life came on stage. They played at one of my first EDM shows, so I was super excited to see them again. They put on an amazing performance, and made us all feel like we were in Dada Land! During their set they tossed inflatable bananas and champagne bottles into the crowd, and they even called up everyone who was wearing a banana costume onto the stage. Everyone was in pure bliss and having an amazing time. It was an unforgettable night!
I love events where you can just be yourself and not worry about the little things. Compared to a club NYE event, you don’t have to wear uncomfortable heels or clothes, you don’t have to worry about a crowded dance floor. The combination of venue space, production, and variety of music made this event one for the books! You get to interact and meet with so many types of people. We shared an elevator with one of the DJ’s, we made friends with people that ended up staying in the presidential suite at the resort, we bumped into a talented glover that we met at EDC last June. There were so many good vibes at Infinity NYE, it was an amazing way to start the new year!
San Diego’s EDM scene is growing and I’m happy I got to be a part of it! I experienced an amazing New Year’s celebration with Eventvibe and Fivegroup at Infinity NYE and I’m sure the thousands of attendees can say the same. Thank you Infinity for having me!
