Drink Creatively with Paint Nite #ReigniteYourNite

If you’re looking for something to do, Paint Nite is the perfect event to attend. Anyone can join, even if you don't think you can paint! It's the perfect hangout with friends or loved ones, and you get to drink! It’s really cool to see all the different paintings that people come up with at the end.

This past weekend, I got to paint with Paint Nite again! This event was located at Famous Dave’s BBQ in Irvine, and the best part was that they had Happy Hour pricing for drinks at that location. The title of our painting was Fallilicious - a pretty blue sky background with autumn leaves and trees framing the canvas. Roxanne, our teacher, was enthusiastic and was willing to help everyone out. This time I decided to mix some colors up to create a little twist to the painting, and it turned out amazing! Even Roxanne said she loved it! My boyfriend started to go a different route too and made a Pokémon themed painting using the tree as a base. Here at Paint Nite, there are absolutely no rules, so you're free to paint whatever your heart desires. You get ample time to finish each step, and by the end of two hours you have completed your very own masterpiece!

Paint Nite is fun for both beginners and experts alike! Every Paint Nite is a new experience.. I’ve joined 4 times, and I still love going. It’s always a great time to drink creatively, and it inspires everyone to express themselves through art. Check out their website to see if they’re hosting a location near you. If you’ve already gone, share your paintings, I’d love to see them!

Paint Nite Review + Discount Code / Drink Creatively

Paintbrush in one hand, cocktail or beer in the other. Not many people can say they’ve done exactly that. Let me introduce you to Paint Nite, where you can socialize, drink and let your creative juices flow. Don’t worry if your simple stick men aren’t masterpieces. Even if you think you can’t paint, its worth a shot. You’ll be surprised at all the techniques you can use with just a few colors. Taught by real artists, Paint Nite sessions, are easy to follow, and the instructors are willing to help you out each step of the way.

My session was at noon on a rooftop bar in Long Beach, this was the perfect excuse to day drink. We arrived right on time, and all the canvases and paint supplies were set on long communal tables. They gave us time to get settled and order drinks, I ordered a Smog City Coffee Stout (yumm) and some water (which came in a cute mason jar glass) . To get started we did a little spirit finger warm up and our teacher, Zach, told us some house rules.

What I loved about Paint Nite, was that it’s not the traditional art class, it felt like a big party! WE had some funny rules for example 1. If someone accidentally drinks their paint water, everyone takes a drink 2. if someone spills their paint water every takes two drinks. FOr painting rules, you have the freedom to paint however you like. At the end of the day everyone's painting will look unique and different.

Our assignment was to paint a sunset scene with hills and two trees using only five colors and a small amount of paint. Each step was taught flawlessly and Zach made it super easy to follow. I brought my boyfriend, who had barely any painting experience. In the beginning, his blending and gradient colors were actually better than mine! This surprised him as well, it was cute seeing a huge grin on his face. Then he started painting trees and then it turned into abstract… if you know what I mean haha.

The whole class took about 2 hours to finish, and when you look at your completed masterpiece, you finally get that creative buzz. You are an artist, everyone’s an artist! We are all capable of creating beautiful things.
